8 months

In the middle of his chaotic 2 weeks, our baby boy turned 8 months old! This also means his adjusted age is now 6 months. He is growing like a week, and has recently really been pushing his chest off the floor while on his belly. I hate that he has had such a hard couple of weeks--it really just breaks my heart for him. He has moved up to size 1-2 diapers this last couple of weeks, and is beginning to wear a few 6-9 size clothes (mostly still in 3-6 though). Zachary got to attend a baby shower for his Godmother this weekend back in Mac town. She is such a cute pregnant lady and they are going to make super parents. Zachary hasn't been able to sit in the bumbo or some of his other toys lately since his surgery. His neck muscles have improved greatly this last month as well. He is getting so much better! Just as always, he remains a super smiley boy, always laid back and takes whatever is given to him. He is in LOVE with his big brother and sister and just grins ear to ear when they are near. He is up to 7 ounces at most every feeding. We have discussed with his doctor and we will be starting cereal after the craziness of this 2 weeks. I can't wait to see how he reacts to that. Zach has been quite chatty lately. He is squealing more in delight, and trying new sounds all the time. It is adorable when we pray at night, as he lays on the floor "talking" with us throughout the prayer. Em and Cal think it is so cute that he is trying to say prayers with us.

We went to the urologist on Friday to have his catheter removed. I can't understand how he wasn't more fussy when I saw them remove that 6-7 inch thing! He only cried when we held him down (he's not a fan of that at all), but didn't flinch at the removing of the stitches or the catheter coming out. Things are healing nicely for little man. He has a few scabs that we are treating and gets a daily soak to help keep things moist. We go back in 3 weeks for a re-check. What a brave little boy!! A funny side story--when we got back from the doctor, I was changing his diaper. Emerald came over and asked if the doctor took out the "candle from his fanny". You see, the catheter had been sticking out about an inch or so. Guess she though he had a candle in there lol!!Posted by Picasa
