Dora and Diego love candy!!!!!!

Our neighbor friends, Carson and Avery, let us hang out with them after we went trick-or-treating.

The evening was perfect!! The weather couldn't have been nicer. We had a ton of people in our neighborhood--I've never seen so many people out on Halloween night!!! We love our new neighborhood and how super friendly everyone is. It also made my day knowing how very into Halloween our neighbors were! Next year Skip joked that we should turn the woods next to us into the "haunted" woods. That would take a lot of work, and may have to wait until the kids are a little older, and could help.

It took a few houses for Calvin (aka Diego) to get warmed up, but by the end of the evening he had learned some new phrases, "trick-treat", "ohhhhh, spooky", "scary", "pumpkin", "candy", and he had perfected the phrases, "more", "sucker", and "thank you." He had no fear going up to any house at all, and couldn't get enough candy! Emerald, aka Dora, loved getting dressed, loved the candy, but was not a big fan of the spooky, scary houses or costumes. She was just fine letting her little brother go up to those houses and get candy and leave her behind at the curb. She was quite frightened when we walked thru one backyard that was lit with hundreds of pumpkins and had a grave digger in it. The highlight of the evening was spending time with Aunt Heidi and Uncle Jeff. We are so lucky to have them close to us to spend fun evening like this together. We also had fun talking about how Josiah and Lobster would be joining the crew next year!!! That is exciting!!! Poor Calvin was exhausted by the end of the evening--sugar high + excitement + walking all around the neighborhood = one tired Diego.
