I haven't uploaded the 6 million pics we took last weekend, but they are soon to come! Laura and Simon came to visit this last weekend and what a fun time we had!! Nana and Pop Pop came up, too, and couldn't decide which baby to hold, Simon (5 months), Josiah (9 weeks), or Zachary (7 weeks). Of course, Emerald and Calvin were still begging for their turn as well! It was so much fun having almost all of us together--Shane was still back home in Colorado. Simon is a doll and we are in love with him. He is adorable, and then he flashes that beautiful smile at us with those incredible squeals of delight!! It makes your heart melt. It is hard to imagine that he is only 3 1/2 months older than Zachary. He reminds me to pay full attention to the hear and now, b/c it too will pass by too fast! Em and Cal had so much fun playing with the babies. Having Josiah and Simon around has made them pay even more attention and share their love with Zach. We are in for a fun weekend again b/c Simon and Laura are headed back this way Saturday for a fun cousion photo shoot with Angela. That should be quite the experience! I am so thankful for family! We are so blessed. It felt weird for Skip and I to stay at home and still have an entire weekend of family. We are thankful, most especially for Zachary's sake, that the family was willing to travel to us this time around. It was so much easier on our littlest man and on the other 2 as well.
Zachary is doing well at home. He was incredibly sleepy after first coming home. However, he seemed to wake up after a few days. We have had home health come out to do weight checks and check him out to make sure he is staying healthy. Monday he was up to 6 lb 7 oz. That is big weight gain! How lucky and blessed are we that he is healthy and continues to thrive. He is starting to outgrow some of his preemie clothes, mostly due to length. We are nearing the end of our preemie diapers and will be moving up to newborn size diapers this week.
We had our first family outing last night. We were desperate for a few Target items so had to go up to Olathe with all the kids. Skip sat in the car feeding Zach while I ran in for some errands. Then we finally got our Taco Bell date. Emerald discovered she loved tacos last night!! Zach did great, sleeping the entire outing. He is such a good baby. His due date is a week from today--wow! It feels odd to hold him and imagine him still inside me. That feels like forever ago. I am curiuos to know what his weight will be on his due date.
Look for some adorable pics of lots and lots of babies coming soon. We have been so busy that is has been hard to find a solid 10 minutes of time to sit down and accomplish anything! I promise one of these days I'm going to have my stuff together, be organized, caught up on all forms of communication and bills, and really feel rested. One of these days............ Then I'll look back and miss the moments of chaos and baby/toddler noises. So, for now, I'll feel behind and enjoy the constant clutter around me and just take in the noise. Enjoy the moment, right?
